Jackie Dyer
Los Angeles, CA
April 20, 1946 – May 3, 2021

Jacqueline Dyer (Jackie), beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on May 3, 2021, in Venice at the age of 75. Jackie was born in Chicago and spent her life in Los Angeles, graduating from Hollywood High School in 1964. She attended UCLA before embarking on a successful career as an Eileen Ford model. Among Jackie’s many achievements, she co-founded a graphic design firm with her then-husband, Rod Dyer, and established the Yoga Studio in Mill Valley. Ten years after the loss of her daughter, Teak Dyer, in 1988, Jackie became a devoted founding trustee of the TEAK Fellowship in New York City. Established in 1998 by Teak’s childhood friend, Justine Stamen Arrillaga, the TEAK Fellowship is a free program that helps talented students from low-income families achieve their potential through academics and mentorship. Jackie’s dedication to the Fellowship reflected her generous nature, keen intelligence, and her lifelong passion for democratic values. Jackie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her kindness, friendship, and a singular spirit that brought people together and enhanced so many lives. She is survived by her son Dylan Dyer, her grandson Ryder Dyer, her daughter-in-law Danielle Dyer, her former husband Rod Dyer, her nieces and nephews, her close friends, and friends of Teak who adopted Jackie as their second mother. A memorial for Jackie will be held in June. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to: www.teakfellowship.org
