Middle School Academy Summer Institute Coordinator (Temporary)

The TEAK Fellowship is a ten-year enrichment program that offers New York City students from under-resourced communities intensive after-school and summer academic classes, transformational cultural experiences, secondary school, and college guidance, a vibrant internship program, and robust support system. TEAK students earn admission/financial aid at our Nation’s most prestigious academic institutions and graduate from them determined to make an impact on communities in need of their contributions and leadership.  

The TEAK Fellowship is currently seeking an individual interested in the nonprofit/education sector. The Middle School Academy (MSA) Summer Institute Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Director of Middle School Academy.  They will be tasked with helping to plan, organize, and execute programming directly related to MSA Summer Institute. Summer Institute is a full-day, six-week academic enrichment program for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students. This is an 8-week position beginning June 20th until August 15th.

Key Responsibilities

• Track student attendance in coordination with Summer Institute teachers 
• Help plan and organize Friday field trips
• Assist with data entry and reporting on Salesforce (training will be provided). 
• Participate/lead student clubs and meetings in coordination with the Middle School Academy team 
• Provide administrative support as needed by the Middle School Academy team

Preferred Qualifications

• Commitment to TEAK’s mission of educational access and success for underrepresented populations.
• High School Diploma required, Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree earned or in process.
• Ability to interact with all of TEAK’s constituents from students and Fellows and families.
• Strong sense of urgency and high detail orientation 
• Proactive team player with the ability to be flexible in a fast-moving environment
• Ability to work 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday; additional hours as needed.
• Previous administrative experience
• Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, or Bengali is preferred.

Salary

$15 – $20/hour with overtime as needed
