The TEAK Fellowship lost a dear friend and colleague, with the passing of Marc Becker, the Chair Emeritus of our Board of Directors.
Marc lived his life generously and embodied all that is good in this world. He was a devoted husband, loving father, caring friend, passionate community member, tireless leader, thoughtful mentor and generous philanthropist.
For more than a decade, TEAK had the privilege of Marc’s service as a Board Member and Chair from 2017 through 2022. He was a visionary leader who changed the nature and trajectory of the organization, expanding the Fellowship in 2019 to benefit additional deserving students. His profound impact is felt everyday by our staff, the students and families we serve, and their communities.
Marc’s dedication to our organization was unmatched and his impact on The TEAK Fellowship will be felt for generations to come. When Marc retired from his role on the Board of Directors, we created this video as a heartfelt thank you for all of his work. We now share it with our greater community as a tribute to the exceptional life Marc lived. We feel so lucky to have had him in our lives.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Marc’s wife, Caryn, and their three children, Olivia, Willow and Hayden. We will miss our friend dearly and will remember fondly all of the wonderful gifts he bestowed on this world.
