We are so tremendously proud of Class 22 Fellows for their hard work, perseverance and positive attitude throughout this placement season. Going through the high school placement process this fall looked much differently than what they and their families envisioned the process to be like when joining TEAK two years ago.
The Fellows interviewed over Zoom, watched video campus tours and attended countless virtual visits throughout the fall as they applied to high schools. They also sat for virtual assessments using new technology that didn’t always work. While many schools eventually went test optional, our Fellows devoted countless hours to preparing for the SSAT and Specialized High School Admissions Test and wanted the opportunity to sit for the exam. Fellows waited on computers with hotspots to be sent, or sometimes made the choice to wear a mask and face shield for several hours to take the test in person. Several times throughout the fall and winter, testing dates were postponed, only later to be cancelled.
Despite all of the unique challenges the 2020-2021 admissions cycle presented, our Fellows remained positive. For many, on the list below, the start of the school year in the fall will be the first time our Fellows will see their schools in-person (we hope), and we are so excited for them! Collectively, they were awarded approximately two million dollars in financial assistance.
Below is where they are heading in the fall. A few of our Fellows are waiting on additional school notifications as the specialized and public schools processes were significantly delayed. We will update our website once school decisions are finalized.
