Welcoming New Board Members

 

 

We’re pleased to announce that, as of January 1, Michael DeFlorio, Alex Sloane, and Susan Weiss were elected to TEAK’s Board of Directors. Each member brings a combination of knowledge and experience to our leadership team and we’re deeply grateful for their commitment to TEAK.

 

 

Michael DeFlorio

Mike is a member of the Private Equity investment team. He joined Harvest in 2003. Prior to joining Harvest, he was a Partner at J. H. Whitney & Co. where he completed private equity transactions in a number of sectors including general industrial, business services and healthcare. Before Whitney, he held positions at American Industrial Partners where he focused on acquiring middle market manufacturing businesses, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in corporate finance. He has a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

 

Alex Sloane

Alex is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Garnett Station Partners, a principal investment firm with over $2 billion of Assets Under Management. Prior to GSP, Alex worked in private equity at Apollo Global Management, where he focused on transactions in the industrials, business services, gaming and real estate sectors. Prior to Apollo, Alex worked at Goldman Sachs in the firm’s Industrials Investment Banking Group. He is a Trustee of the Heckscher Foundation for Children and America Needs You. Alex received an M.B.A. with Honors from Harvard Business School and a A.B. with Honors in Government and Economics from Harvard College.

 

Susan Weiss

Susan is a Managing Director at Blackstone. Previously, she was Director in the Financial Sponsors Group within the Investment Banking Division at Credit Suisse. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2013, Susan was in the Leveraged Finance Group at BMO Capital Markets. Susan started her career at Goldman Sachs in the Financing Group and graduated from Wellesley College in 2006 with a double major in Economics and Chinese Language and Literature. Susan joined the Next Generation Board in 2018, and served as Co-Chair of the Next Gen Board from 2020 to 2023.
