Over the course of 3-weeks in January, TEAK partnered with the law firm of Patterson Belknap to provide 5 TEAK college students – one each from Classes 13 through 17 – with an intensive internship program. The internship introduced the students to the inner workings of a law firm as well as provided mentorship and professional development opportunities. The program curriculum centered around the “life of a case” using a real past trial as a framework for introduction to the law. Additionally, guest speakers and networking events were hosted throughout the internship that provided a broad perspective on the Firm and the legal profession as a whole.
The inaugural program concluded on January 22nd with case presentations from all 5 students as well as participation from numerous Patterson volunteers, including Firm Co-Chair & Managing Director, Lisa Cleary, and TEAK Board Member & Alum, Christina Seda.
