Fellows Ring New York Stock Exchange Bell with Black Women on Boards

On February 14, TEAK Fellows Celine (Class 21, 11th grade) and Aryanna (Class 24, 8th grade) joined TEAK’s Change Maker Gala Honoree Merline Saintil in a historic bell ringing at the New York Stock Exchange in honor of Black Women on Boards, an organization co-founded by Merline that aims to remove the obstacles Black female executives face when pursuing board seats. Celine and Aryanna joined Merline, Black Women on Boards co-founder Robin Washington, and over 100 board members and women from Spelman College in ringing the bell. It was a special gathering and inspiring way to commemorate Black History Month!

When asked about the experience Aryanna shared that “It feels amazing to be this young already being on the balcony.” “It’s a step forward for the future and Black women,” said Celine. “You’re looking at future CEOs.”
