On October 23, 2024, over 700 friends and supporters gathered at the Ziegfeld Ballroom for TEAK’s 2024 Gala! It was an amazing celebration and memorable evening recognizing inspirational change makers and our incredible TEAK Fellows.
The evening honored the legacy of TEAK’s former board chair Marc Becker and recognized Wendy and Scott Kleinman as Inaugural Honorees for the Marc E. Becker Leadership and Service Award. Chosen for their grit, resilience, leadership, and generosity, Wendy and Scott embody Marc’s many amazing qualities and values that we seek to instill in our TEAK Fellows. Thank you, Wendy and Scott, for your distinguished leadership, service, and commitment to others.
In addition, the evening featured a show stopping Shakespeare performance from TEAK Fellows, a beautiful musical piece performed by 9th grader Manu Betances (Class 25), and a Fireside Chat with TEAK’s Founder Justine Stamen Arrillaga and Fellows representing the 10-year journey of our program. We were amazed by our students’ poise, creativity, and beautiful reflections on their TEAK experience. Special thanks to our Master of Ceremonies Brad Weekes, TEAK Alumni Class 10 (Saint Ann’s, Brown University).
We are so grateful to everyone who supported and attended the gala, which will enable TEAK Fellows to continue to use their opportunities to change their lives and the world around them.
