“This fall, I will be teaching 10th and 12th grade English at Peddie School. It is heartwarming and exciting to rejoin the Peddie community as a faculty member, because Peddie is a place that is so dear to me. When I reflect on my experience at Peddie and all of the ways that I have grown academically, socially, and personally, I can’t help but feel grateful to TEAK. TEAK challenged me and aspired me to do and be better. The classes, programs, and guidance TEAK is able to provide its fellows is incredibly valuable. I know that without access to these resources, I wouldn’t have known about boarding schools and all of the other vast opportunities often closed off to underprivileged communities. TEAK doesn’t just light the path for you; fellows work hard for everything that they earn. TEAK rather helps you recognize and radiate the light already inside of you, so that you can brighten your own journey to success. I am thrilled to be at Peddie while current Fellows attend the school. I hope to be a resource to them and remind them that they can overcome any obstacle coming their way, because they are prepared, talented, intelligent, and driven.”
